Madrid Highlights Diversity and Coexistence

A notable gathering in Madrid welcomed faith communities, cultural voices and social actors to celebrate the World Day for Cultural Diversity. The event, hosted by Fundación Mejora at the national headquarters of Scientology in Madrid, highlighted dialogue, tolerance and mutual understanding. The round table included a representative of the Bahá’í Community of Spain, a specialist from the Madrid Municipal Police Diversity Management Unit, flamenco artist Tito Losada, a Roma guitarist and composer, and Denise González. Speakers offered personal, cultural and institutional perspectives on how mutual knowledge can help build more inclusive communities.

During the event, participants explored themes such as human rights, cultural identity and respect for differences. Fundación Mejora framed the initiative with Scientology’s emphasis on ethical values and community improvement. Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to European and international institutions, said that cultural and religious diversity contributes to democratic life when supported by education and dialogue.
